Newby Cemetery, White County, Illinois, USA

Notes: Bob Newby writes: "John died from TB and was buried on a family farm. I checked White County's list of cemeteries and there was no Newby Cemetery, so when I posted John Newby on Findagrave.com, I chose to call his burial location 'Newby Cemetery'.

"I have not researched land records to determine who owned the land at the time of the burial. To locate his grave, my wife Evelyn and I drove East from Mill Shoals on Route #20 toward Burnt Prairie. We turned South onto farm road #275, drove past a house on the right. A short distance from the house on the East side of the road was a hay field with a small patch of woods on the North side of the field which contains John's grave. Someone must have planted white daffodils as his grave and the woods were full of the flower.

"From Mill Shoals going East toward Burnt Prairie there is a bend in the road. About halfway between Mill Shoals and the bend is RT #275. Look for a dark green crop field and just south a light green crop field with a small grove of trees at the top middle of that field."
